Let's define a few things upfront.
What is the Hierarchy?
Be sure to understand the BQE Core hierarchy for projects: BQE Core is Project-centric. Users can add phases and sub-phases in 4 levels. [There's more information available here, https://corehelpcenter.bqe.com/hc/en-us/articles/4409632463255-What-is-the-difference-between-Root-Project-ID-and-Project-ID ] It's important to know upront that Root Projects (parent to all its phases and sub-phases) and each Phase has Rules and Assignments. In most cases, the settings/rules/assignments in BQE Core for projects and phases override the SPRCHRGR Sync Tool settings. See additional documentation in this User Guide related to Assignments.
What do we mean by "Source of Truth"?
This is a central location that stores a company's data and serves as the official record of the organization. As an example, typically, BILL is the Source of Truth for vendors (because vendors can edit their address or contact information in the app) but BQE Core is the Source of Truth for the Projects and Phases. Records should be added and edited in the application that serves as the Source of Truth and then sync the data to the other application. See additional documentation for Order of Operation in the Best Practices section.
What is an API?
API stands for Application Programming Interface. You may see us reference "API" in a few of our articles, but we tried to limit the technical language.
